Since his appointment as consultant urogynaecologist to Nottingham University Hospitals in 2002, Mr Paul Hooper has established strong links with the Continence Advisory Service, where care pathways and guidelines have been developed to optimise treatment of urinary incontinence and genito-urinary prolapse. As well as developing a one-stop assessment service for local women, Mr Hooper is responsible for delivering tertiary sub-specialist urogynaecology for a wider area.
Mr Hooper has also established a post-partum pelvic clinic and has considerable experience with this group of patients. Working closely with colleagues in urology, the urogynaecology service has established many new techniques for the treatment of prolapse and incontinence and the focus is on improving quality of life. Regular multidisciplinary meetings and a focus on clinical outcomes ensure that Nottingham provides a first-class urogynaecology service.
